We are Starting an At-Home Art Residency!

If you have been following along on the topic of artist residencies in my last two journal offerings, you may now be well-versed on how these programs work. An artist residency is a program designed to gift artists time, space, and creative freedom to work on their art practice without distractions.
It has been a dream of mine to someday create my very own art residency situated on the rolling hills of the Italian countryside.

If I’m being honest, this is a decade-long journey to obtain funding, European citizenship, and transform land into an ecological paradise rooted in Permaculture Design principles. Oftentimes, it pains me to think how far away I am from my aspirations. The only thing stopping me from making this dream a reality truly is the location, so here I am making it known that, for now, I will be starting my very own At-Home Art Residency.
At-home Art Residency is a community I envision of artists and creatives of all kinds coming together in support of creation. Whether it be photography, music, writing, choreography, ceramics, architecture, or design, this community welcomes anyone wanting to pursue a creative endeavor.
From January 5th to January 18th, 2026, we will be starting off the new year with a much-needed reset. The At-home Art Residency will empower you to move past that artist block or unmotivated energy that has been lingering. We are here to learn to let go of expectations of what art and creativity should look like, and reconnect with our inner child through play rather than perfection.
Whether you choose to create from home, rent out a cabin in the woods, or travel abroad, artists of all levels and disciplines are welcome to join this community that will keep us accountable as a group to gain momentum on our art practice as we take risks, research, explore, and discover.
I will be doing daily check-ins via the Substack chat box, where I will be sharing helpful tips, motivational blurbs, and my own progress. As a subscriber, you will be able to join the chat on the app, where you too can share your work in progress and support other artists. We will stay motivated and disciplined together during the two weeks of devotion. Even if you only have one or two hours to work per day, let’s make it happen! If you will be joining, RSVP using the Google Form below so that I can get a headcount of participants.
If you haven’t already, I suggest reading my previous article below to learn the structure of how residencies work in preparation for January.
If you have any art friends who would love to participate, please share this article and spread the word!
